This project was immensely fun and went through a few concepts and initial iterations before we chose to close in on the community concept. The old ASH site had a very healthy user community in its forums, but the main site was turning into a blog. In order to eliminate the separation between the two, we decided to merge the forum and publishing platforms to power the site. We ended up with a solid message board upgrade which pleased the original core audience, and we could both quickly publish news and automatically pull user generated content into news and blog areas. As a result we’ve also been able to pull syndicated content from the band’s myspace blog, youtube channel, and veoh videos into the site - and syndicate it all out to users at the same time.

The ultimate semi-homegrown system for an active band on the road and playing huge festivals and concerts.

EpicRecords.com

The Epic Records redesign was challenging since it was set up to collect a large amount of disparate content from various sources such as XML and proprietary content systems, and display them all on pages that made sense from both a user and marketing perspective. Using lots of little Flash bits, feeds and includes did the trick.
