After months of content strategy and mapping the many phases of pre-nominations, nominations, show and post show versions, here are the results of the finalized version of the AOL Awards template UI! From this package, we spawned our Golden Globes, Oscars/Academy Awards, and Grammys sites. Standardizing the UI as a jump off point for the various editorial teams at AOL allowed us to maintain design consistency and create an efficient workflow for design and production. While I can’t show the full UI here, please take a look at the sites themselves to see the outcome.

The goal of this UI was an adaptation of an existing AOL poll, but in this case we wanted to display more categories since many of the awards show categories contained up to six nominees. Sometimes, there would be less- so I mapped a nice solution that would automatically center a second row of images. It has already been implemented a few times and will continue to be used in upcoming packages.

This was a fun site to work on - provided users with a clear and engaging guide to all the new and returning shows in the fall 2007 television season. Worked in a large McDonalds sponsorship at the same time! A big round of design credit also goes to Frank Campanella and Jennifer Williams.
